My story

Peter Joachim Katzenstein is a German-American political scientist whose scholarship has shaped comparative politics, international relations, and international political economy.

His work explores how institutions, culture, identity, security, and regional contexts affect political outcomes. He is the author, coauthor, editor, or coeditor of nearly forty books and more than one hundred articles and chapters.

His current interests focus on power and uncertainty in world politics, regions and civilizations, America’s global role, and German politics.
